Safe Place

Sometimes, just sometimes
We push our pain back
So deep down that the surface looks back at us
No, it not clear,
Neither is it a mirror
Drowned in memories.

Though memories have triggers,
What is yours
Mine is that feeling;
That stomach clinching feeling
Eyes closed,
Mouth opened wide yet
Makes no sound.

Pain is beauty
It is an art for those of us who understand
In total it is a lifeline!

Sometimes when I feel empty,
Empty is my full
Everything perfect
Those times the darkness drag me by my feet
Then the faint coy smile
The familiar feeling
Living in that bubble, of fear
Constantly broken
That's my safe place.!
